I am expecting my first child and the last
day or so, I have had some discomfort in
my belly button. There is a small part
of my belly button that seems to be
protruding a bit, and that's what hurts.
I go to the doctor on tuedsay, but I was
just wondering if this is normal, or if I
need to be concerned. It is painful to
the touch. My husband and I were talking
about it, and he said we need to mention
it on tuesday, but it is a bit concerning
to me now. Can anyone tell me what this
could be? Is it normal to have a painful
belly button??

Tazzy d,
could it already be popping out, if indeed
it is an outie? I am only 20 weeks
along?

My belly button at 19 weeks was flush with
my skin. By 20 weeks it started poking
out.
You know how when(before you were
pregnant) you would put your finger deep
inside your belly button it would hurt?
Well your belly button is now outwards so
the nerves are exposed.
Ask your doctor...But I had the same
problem. Of course it won't get any
better. You might have herniated it
though...Have you done anyhitng
strenuous?

Sarah,
i do remember a bit of pain in my belly
button early on. I just can't believe
that it could be popping out already. My
13 year niece asked me last weekend, what
was wrong with my belly button. I guess
that's what's happening! It is not flush
with my stomach, yet, but it is close!!!
Mu husband suggested the same thing, about
it changing, popping, and that it is
probably not a big deal. He was relieved
when I told him it hurt on the outside,
not the inside.
No, I really don't recall doing anything
too strenuous in the past week. Thanks
for your information, I feel better now
that I know it could be an early outie!!
Is it early for an outie? I'm only 20
weeks along??? I thought that happened
closer to the end? But I guess every
pregnancy is different! Thanks again for
the info!!!!!! I will be mentioning to
the mid-wife on tuesday!!
