Yesterday at the doctor, I signed a release form so that I can get my tubes tied after .Caitlyns born..

But after the doc told me about all the possible life long side effects, and then googling it and reading all the things that can happen...

Im a little worried.

I'm actually considering getting .Mirena.

But ive heard bad things about i.U.D's too.. Like about accidentally getting pregnant and the baby is born with the .I.U.D actually feased with their body. And the abdominal cramps and ovarian cysts.

I cant go thru another pregnancy.

The perinatologist yesterday scared the hell outta me when he said he wanted to possibly admit me for .H.E.L.L.P syndrome again. All because they found protein in my urine and because my platelets were slightly low. My blood pressure has been perfect (yesterday it was 120/78) ive had no other symptoms of .H.E.L.L.P.. I kept telling them it was probably just another .U.T.I (which they ended up giving me a strong antibiotic injection in my toosh before resorting to going to .E.R l&d) so I dunno.. Thats why im so intent on not getting pregnant again. Its not safe for me or the baby.

I just dont know what to do.

do not tie your tubes!!!! You will regret it in years to come. You are still young and you dont know what you'll want in a few years....I would recommend the iud...Yes, there are failure rates with that like with anything esle but its one of the most effective forms of bc....Trust me sandra you'll regret tying your tubes.....

Sandra. I got the tubal done, but that is because I have 6 children. It is all up to you, but I know alot of people who do regret it, and then there are alot of people who dont. Me personally I do regret it, because I love children and I never know if later on in life if I ever wanted anymore, but I did it.

Now.. On the other note. My neighbors son is the same age as shyanne, and she had the tubal done as well both of us within a week apart same place and etc. Well low and behold she just found out that she is 5 months preggo.. So some people do get preggo regardless.....

I know about the whole... Might want kids later..

Im just worried about the fact that my pregnancies seem to be... Not right.

All the problems I had with .Jacob.. Now with .Caitlyn they're starting to worry about me getting it again. .H.E.L.L.P is dangerous for both me and the baby. I just dont know if having more children, whether we want to or not, is worth the risk.

why dont you at least try the wire and then decide later on if its really what you want. There is nothing really pressuring you to do it now or is it a question of timing....Doing it at the hospital right after the birth?

I would leave the option open, if I were you. See how .Caty's birth goes. You might not get sick this time around! You said your blood pressure was good, right? Besides, as long as you and your doctors monitor your health closely, you should be okay in any future pregnancies. Keep those thoughts positive. :)

its not really the timing.. Yeah it would be convenient to do right after shes born.. But its just the whole.. Worry at the back of my mind of getting pregnant again and dealing with the same issues.

I know both procedures have risks.. And im leaning more to the iud now.. I just dont want it to not work and end up getting pregnant anyway. Rob says he'd get snipped, but my dad went and ran his mouth and tried to scare him out of doing it. (pain, recovery, whatnot. .You know how guys are. They all somehow feel each others weiner pain.)

i can't see how it would be possible for a baby to be born with the coil in its head when its protected by the amniotic sac. For the coil to pentrate the babies body it would have to break through the sac, thus causing the womens waters to break...

Anyway, i'm getting the mirena coil fitted in a few weeks. My best friend has had it for over a year and she loves it. No periods and no symptoms (for her)

There is a lady who posts on here who had to terminate a pregnancy because the iud became embedded in her baby's head. I think her name is sandyallen but I might be wrong.

Yes, that was me, and that was long ago with the iud situation, they have improved on them since the but things happen. If I had it to do now adays in your situation or anyone else that was young now adays and was unsure about having more children I would have the mirena just ask cairifairy too, I know of some females that have thm now and they are really happy with them!
All the best!

it is but not for me. I had a piece of each of my tubes removed. And it is costly for a reverse

jenna it is, my mom got her tubes tied with #4 and then had it reversed a year later in which she got pregnant with the last two of sibling not to long later, my mom only had one tube at the time too.

Honestly sandra have you thought about getting hubby fixed, the recuperation for them is shorter (1-3 days) it takes less than an hour to do and the success rate is like 99.9%. Hubby works in specialized clinic where the work with a dermatologist, gynecologist and they also do sterilizations he said most patients came out of it more than fine. Hubby is going next month to have one done, on his own will (for those that already assumed I forced him) he thinks two is more than good although we thought about 3 I just cant.

Yeah he's actually suggested it himself... But like I said, my father tried to scare him away from the idea. Im sure hes still willing tho. I just dont want anything to happen later in life.. Ive read that men who get it done are at a higher risk for prostate cancer, and impotence.

*sigh*

i dunno.

I guess the .Mirena is the best choice.. Since its easier reversed.. My mom had her tubes tied after my younger brother was born and I dunno if its because of that or not but her periods are so erratic and heavy. It may be menopausal... Or a combination of both.. But im not sure.
