Q: Lost Sense of Smell

I have not been able to smell for over a year now. Recently I decided to try nasonex nasal spray and it started working. I began to smell again. Now for the past week all I can smell is this burnt smell all the time, it never goes away. It almost smells like cigarette smoke. I stopped using the nasonex about 4 days ago because I thought that maybe this was a side effect or something. I don't know what to make of this symptom. It is so strange. I want it to just stop. I would rather not be able to smell at all than to have to smell this smoke smell all the time. Actually I would just like to be able to smell normally again. I don't even know what type of doctor to see for this condition. Does anyone out there have a clue?

Do you have frequent sinus infections or polyps in your sinus's?

Be careful...You can get addicted in a way with the nasal sprays..Your nose will get use to them and pretty soon you will have to use them all the time to keep your nasal passages open. Good luck!
