Q: Anxiety Or Thyroid?

I have been having rapid heartbeat,shortness of breath,weakness in arms and legs,and extreme feelings of anxiety. Dr is treating me for anxiety but also thyroid issues. I was taking 150mcg of synthroid and was hyperthyroid, he took me off synthroid and within 3 weeks I was hypothyroid. He put me on 112mcg synthroid and now I am having symptoms of rapid heartbeat,shortness of breath etc.! Now taking xanax and synthroid. Help.

I don't know about the thyroid thing, but that all sounds like anxeity. Has the xanax worked?

Thyroid Or Anxiety

The xanax does help, but I worry about taking medications that could possibly be addictive. My mom has struggled with addiction to prescription medications for a long time,but has now been clean for almost 2 years. I don't want to end up with the same problem, even though i'm very careful to take it only as prescribed. Thanks.
