My 3 week old baby is having problems sleeping. He wakes up every two hours wanting feeds but he only drinks 1 oz of the bottle before zonking out. He has had problems with wind before and weve changes his bottles which deal with colic. But I dont think its that as I try winding him at night and he brings nothing up and he still screams. Ive also tried changing his milk and its a little better. Any help?

Oh, the joys of the first six weeks. I can't believe I made it through alive! My daughter is now 71/2 months old and the first weeks were tough. How are his diapers? You can learn a lot from them. My daughter acted similarly but I was breast feeding and had to be careful what I ate (i drank a lot of coffee and it didn't help). She also had an allergy to soy, of all things, when I topped her up with formula. I would check with a health care practitioner for advice or other moms (which you are obviously trying). Babies also act this way when they're going through a growth spurt. My daughter fed every hour for nearly three weeks before I broke down and got her similac. Good luck. Hope other moms have advice for you

Thanks the health visitor thought it might be a growth spurt but we found out the problem with him waking up every two hours. He is on specially designed colic bottles but he cant get enough milk out of it and is harder work so he falls asleep easily. So we had to change the teats to the avent teats (cheat a lil) but they leak alot (about an oz a feed) but at least he can drink out of it. He can now drink 4-5 oz a feed and last up to 4 hours like he used to! But hes having constipation now and we had to put him on juice and weaken it. Fingers crossed it works because I really need a decent nights sleep!

My daughter is 8 months old now and i'm still hoping to get a good night's sleep!!! I heard it takes between 2 weeks and 2 years to get them to sleep through the night. With my luck, it'll be 2 years. Good luck to you in the future; we're all with you!
