Worried About My Best Friend Posted: 01-23-04 15:45pm
Hi. I am new at this, so go easy on me
please. My best friend suffers very badly
from depression. She also had a complete
hysterectomy about 3 years ago. Since
then she has been taking estratest for
hormone replacement. Last week she went
in for a check up, and her doctor told her
to stop taking her hormones! This poor
woman is flipping out. I don't know what
to do anymore, nothing seems to help. All
she does is sleep or cry, and when she
isn't crying she is so angry at anything
and everything, that even her kids are
afraid to be around her. She is still
taking effexor every day, along with
zanax, and sometimes I think she is also
self-medicating herself with god knows
what just to get through the day. I am
really worried. I have talked to her
husband - who is a very good man, but has
dealt with her depression for the last 20
years, and I don't think he has it in him
to help her anymore. We are used to her
being depressed, but her anger problem
lately is really scaring me. I'm afraid
she needs to be hospitalized, but she will
never go for that. Does anyone have
advice? Please...

Hi I feel for yur friend. Her husband
will not help?
With my experiance she needs help soon.
Is there a medical facility with inpatient
treatment you can bring her to?
Does she have other close family that will
help you?
Ask and if someone can help you it will be
better for herand you!
If you are worried about self medicating
there they can moniter that and maybe they
can help her with the balancing of meds.
Why was she told to quit?
I hope there is a medical facility close
if you call and speak to someone there
they will help you. This is what we did
and it helped!!
