Multiple Sclerosis Answer A1531
According to the symptoms mentioned (tingling, pain, numbness, arm/leg weakness, muscle stiffness, vision disturbances…) and the MRI report (multiple demyelinization foci…) it seems very likely that you have multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is an autoimmune neurological disease where the immune system creates antibodies against the myelin coverings of the nerve tracts in the brain and spine cord. Anti-myelin antibodies cause local inflammation and demyelinization of the nerve tracts disturbing their normal function. Symptoms depend upon the localization of the demyelinizated areas. To confirm MS, (other than a neurological examination and MRI of the brain), you should also request a lumbar puncture to identify anti-myelin antibodies in the cerebral-spinal fluid. You'll need an expert opinion from a neurologist.
