Uti Or Whaaat?
Posted: 09-12-06 08:19am

Heres the deal.

About a year ago I was under the impression that I had a uti, but at first I put it down to the fact that I dont drink a lot of water, and if I do drink anything, its usually coffee. So after a long time of being in quite a bit of pain I got around to seeing a doctor who gave me meds for a uti, which worked. I also gave them a urine sample, but was never contacted about it. That didnt bother me, considering the drugs worked and I felt fine for months.

Now last week I felt like I had a uti again and without thinking too much I made an appointment with my doctor. Since I have every symptom of uti and am at a high risk of getting utis I told him that. This new doctor tells me that my prior urine sample showed no signs of bacterial growth whatsoever, only a great deal of white blood cells. Again, he gave me meds for uti in case I had it and I feel fine again.

So to make it short
a) there is no signs of bacterial growth in my urine
b) there is an elevated amount of white blood cells in my urine
c) medication against uti is working
d) I have all symptoms of a uti, which I understand are quite vague and could be put down to other disorders.

So what the hell is wrong with me?What might my doctor ask to be done?
So far hes suggested chlamydia, which is highly unlikely inside my circumstances.

Ive read about interstitial cystitis and kidney infections and im really not sure what might be wrong with me
any help would be appreciated, im really starting to freak out :(
