I had a question, in november 2002, my stepmother was told she had two
5mm tumors on her lower right lung. They did no other testing until
march of 2003. She had both ct's (november, march with out contrast). =
both showed these tumors, but still no biopsy or pet scan. It ended up =
being to late in november of 2003, a ct with contrast was done and her =
right lower lung had a tumor of 4.9 cm x 2.9, she also had a large mass =
of lymphenodes in the center of her chest. My question is: can a 5mm =
tumor be biopsy or could other tests have detected more. After my =
stepmother found out through a biopsy in november 2003 that she had =
large cell carcinoma, she went to an oncologist who ordered a pet scan. =
she ended up with bone cancer also. She was diagnosed on the 13th of =
november and passed on thanksgiving. I just wanted to know if she could
of been with us longer is they had biopsy those tumors back in 2002.

Thank you.
Darlene
