Hi - I have written in before - my lower back has been bothering me for 5 months - at the beginning it was really bad - pain right down leg and all - i went to surgeon andhe said my disk was very big and he wanted to do a microdiscectomoy right away. I went to pt and took a whole series epi-steroid shots. They helped in that the pain is out of my leg. But for the past 2 months the pain is in my lower back and while not horrible is very annoying and still bothers me while sitting. I'm kind of beside myself and I am thinking of having the surgery now - but everything I read about the microdiscectomy says its good for stopping leg pain (of which I have none). Should I have the surgery - can it take the pain out my back. Help - steve
