Weird Pain In the Area That "connects" My Leg to M Posted: 09-10-06 21:07pm
Whenever I play football or run for a long
period of time (sprints usually) that
involves a lot of cutting (running routes
as a wr), the part of my leg above my
thigh but right below my torso (and to the
right of the groin) is always sore.
Only in my right leg. Its been doing
this for years, even if I don't run on it
for months at a time.
i circled the general area of the pain.
Its only pain when I walk, not when i'm
just sitting here. Not terribly
severe, but enough to be noticeable.

If it's right below your pelvic bone I
believe I know what you're talking
about.
I'm 27, played football, soccer and hockey
for years. I've had this injury. You
need to stay off it for about 2-3 months.
Take it slowly after that. Always
remember to stretch it.....But do it
slowly. Give it time to re-cover. If it
hurts, stop.
You will always have issues with this.
Sorry
go to a physio.

What is it though? I think its relatively
healed because I do stay off of it (pretty
much most of the summer) but recently
joined a flag football team. It doesn't
hinder my abilities, but I feel it.

It's just damaged. You need to see a pro.
He'll tell you what to do so it heals
properly.
The injury is a delicate one. I
re-injured it every 2-3 years. Usually if
I don't stretch before hand or haven't
done sports in a while and jump back in.
I've injured myself quite a bit. Be
careful. The last thing you want is to be
60 and in pain because it never healed
properly.
A physiotherapist will help big time. At
least go for 1 session so they can tell
you what it is and what you should be
doing to treat it. The exercises
recommended you can do on your own.
