Hey i'm new here and was just wondering if
anyone has had any of the same experiences
I have had or could offer some feedback on
the birth controll pill lutera...
I got an iud (meraina) put in about 5
months ago, and paid the full $600 for it
(urgh) and over the first month developed
hideous side-effects... Intercourse
became extreemly painfull, (kinda felt
like my bf was wearing a condom made of
sand paper, when infact he was wearing
nothing at all). I felt a constant need
to urinate (not in a uti way, i've had one
of those... The feeling wasn't that
extreem, just a general discomfort) and I
turned into an evil monster-woman for,
almost the entire time I had it. I just
had it taken out today and am hoping for
the symptoms/side-effects to ease up...
Now my gyno has put me on lutera as my
method of birth controll and I am a little
bit concerned to take it... Has anyone
else started taking lutera after their
primary form of birth controll contained
progesterone and not eastrogen?? (<---
i'm sure I just spelt that wrong) is there
anyone who is on lutera at all? Does it
work well, are there any hideous
side-effects? I've read the little
information booklet, but sometimes they
don't add all possible side effects (the
info that came with the iud didn't tell me
that intercourse could become extreemly
painfull...)
thanks heaps :)

I have been on lutera for a month now and
it's pretty great! Ortho tricyclen low
made me very sick and so I switched to
luthera. At first I spotted brown
liquids, but not for long. I also seemed
to be having headaches during the first 2
weeks I was using it, but they disappeared
quickly. Now I am happy with it, and it
has even made me loose a little weight!
=d. Good luck!

I can't answer your questions about your
pill sorry but hope I can help with the
mirena issue.
It can take a few months to settle down
and you should remember that your cycle
still happens with it so pms etc... Wont
be effected at all by it. I have to say
that I love mine, no periods and no
pregnancy but at first I did have an
infection which made it uncomfortable and
it took some time for my body to adjust to
it (your body will try to reject it as its
a foreign object).
Was there any reason you were using a
projesterone only contraceptive? I
personally cannot use combined methods but
I wish yuo the best of luck on your new
pill.

My Lutera Experience Posted: 10-26-06 22:05pm
I have recently switched from the one
generic (aviane) to another (lutera) back
in june due to the fact that my pharmacy
here does not carry aviane. I have to
say that I have never had any major side
effects with low dose pills (the past 2
years) until the switch to lutera.
I have been experiencing frequent yeast
infections, and it seems they always occur
right before my period. I know there
are many ways to get a yeast infection,
but I can't help thinking that this pill
is the culprit. Has anyone else had
this experience?

I have been taking lutera for almost a
year. I have never had any side effects
at all. Maybe just breast tenderness a
week before my period. I have never had a
yeast infection on lutera. Last month my
pharmacy was out of lutera and they gave
me aviane 28. My boobs were sore for 4
weeks straight. The whole month I felt I
was going to get my period any day.
Lutera is the best for me

Is This Normal? Posted: 04-27-07 18:50pm
I started Lutera about a week ago and I
have been having a bit of neck pain, groin
pain, and little headaches (not too
severe) . has anyone else experienced
this, and will it go away soon?
