Q: Surgery Problems

I had surgery to remove an ovary. After I was released from the hospital, I started with a low fever. Within a few days I was very "flu" like. I returned to my doctor and was told I had a wound infection.
It was re-opened at the doctors office and drained. I returned every day for about 10 days to have this wound drained of pus.

I still was not feeling well.

I then went to the emergency room, after a ct scan they discovered I had an internal abscess in my surgery site. I was admitted for another surgery. The wound was then left packed open and I spent another 3 weeks going in almost every day until all infections cleared up. I was on two different antibiotics for two different kinds of bacteria found in the abscess.
Please - what happened here? Crying or Very sad
what causes wound infections?

What causes internal abscess?

What treatment should I have had?

Patty

My first response would be to contact a second opinion from another specialist not associated with the first surgeon. Also, you can have a free consultation with a mal-practice lawyer for further advise.
