Ugh, i'm disgusted. Three years ago, I was the mom on the run. I was always full of energy and always on the go. I was 135 lbs. Then, I stopped having menstrual cycles and I gained 50 lbs in 4 months without changing my exercise or eating habits. I was freaked out, so I went to the doc and was diagnosed with hashimoto's. I was started on 25mcg of levoxyl and quickly moved up to 125mcg. Then I went to another doctor because my tsh was 9 and my reg doc said i'd be ok. My new doc put me on 137mcg of levoxyl. I'm still tired all the time. My sex drive has went from nascar to sunday driver. My hair, even though it's long, is falling out. I can't lose weight. I'm now about 200 lbs! I don't have energy to play with my kids anymore and it's depressing. I've tried vitamins, and because I have pcos related to my hypothyroidism, i'm on glucophage, which makes me shakey and sick to my stomach all the time. I'm 26 and feel like i'm 70. Anyone have any solutions to my problem? Do I need to pursue more aggressive treatment?

Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism
Hello. Sorry to hear about your hypo- problems. I have them too.
I was diagnosed 3 years ago was taking 50 mcg of levoxyl until a few months ago. I went to a new endo almost 6 months ago and told him how miserable, cold, depressed, unable to lose any weight even after running three marathons, hair falling out, puffy face, loss of libido, absolutely no energy, etc.. I convinced him to write a rx for cytomel (5 mcg) to use along with my levoxyl. Immediately I felt better I had more energy and I was actually happy until this last month. I think I need more cytomel. I read alot about it and alot of hypothyroid people are having great success with it.
The problem is the dosage has to be administered in such small amounts because it could be dangerous if you are given to much too soon. Also i've noticed I feel much better if I have smalll snack like meals avery 3-4 hours instead of a large meal. I run every other day and it seems like the only time I really feel good is while I am running. Good luck.

Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism
Hello.
I was alos diagnosed with hashimoto hypothyroidism 2yrs ago. The recent 2tests showed levels within ranges, except..Antibody was 24,9 u/ml (shouldbe <12).
I was given levothyroxin 25 ug per day. There're other symptoms like heartrate..Bloodpressure etc.. Doctor seemed not explain much but increase/decrease the medi at time.
I study from internet got myself healthguard t18 treatment with consultants there to help online. Symptoms improved lately the 3/4 months. For good that its patient support gp explain me my conditions, tks the consultant by this chance...Anyone tried t18 before?
At least should be no side-effect than levothyroxin... I'm on my 2nd treatment till next blood test hope the figures show good and less on prescription drugs...Pls...
