i would love to say, sure, we can meet in the middle but in all reality we are all different and believe differently.

I feel we are all allowed here as long as we do not call others names and go by the rules, if someone wants to talk down on me or call me names, I realize that they are just talking about themselves, I do not plan to waste my time on them, I have a life, I am much more mature then that, it is just easier to me just to ignore them and let them belittle themselves.

I know we are all different but surely there is some common ground between the two sides[ the religious fringe apart ], don,'t most pro lifers believe in contraceptive [ some object to the map I know ] and better sex ed, I am discounting the religious fringe on the grounds that their belief is a doctorine not an opinion or if anything one mans opinion given to them, not their own.I know I am going to get slated for this but I have said it before religion has no place in the debate.

i agree sandy. Most on here realize that the whole design of debate is for opposing sides to have a place to "respectfully" voice opinions....And perhaps learn from each other. I think the majority do just that. If you notice however....The ones who do the name calling and the insulting seldom post anything constructive about the topic at hand. They merely jump into a thread....Spew trash about this poster or that poster and then run off with their nickers in a twist if someone dare lash back at them. Then it becomes nothing but a "he said, she said" playground brawl. So as long as people use these kind of tactics as tools for communication....No....There will never be a half way point between the two sides. Abortion is an emotional subject for everyone involved for any number of reasons. Telling someone that what they feel in their heart is wrong....Never goes over well....And then combine that with insults and name calling.....And all you get is someone who shuts down and refuses to listen....No matter how many facts your side has to back up its position.

I think the petty arguing going on inside this topic is an excellent example of the people who don't need to be in this debate.

I'm reinstating the "ignore stillhere" campaign.
