Doctor Question
I am going away at the end of the month and it will co-inside with the end of my period.
I really don't want my period at all at this time!
I have read that with some pills you can just carry on taking the pill and your period doesn't come. But I am on noriday and you take the pill through your period anyway.
Does anyone have any suggestions because im really worried.
Thanks
lianne

It is true that there are contraceptive pills on the market that can be taken every day that stimulate only 4-5 periods per year instead of 12. That is because all the pills in the pack contain certain amounts of hormones. The problem with these type of contraceptive pills is that the 4-5 periods are unpredictable. In the usual 28-pills-per-pack hormonal contraceptives, the last 7 pills do not contain hormones and a woman gets her period while taking the last 7 inactive pills. You may consult your gynecologist about changing contraceptive pills.
