Ok one of my good friends jen is having some problems....She's been having protected sex(condom) for about 3-4 weeks now...Over the past week she's been feeling really nauseous...Although she started her period on tuesday the 20th, it only lasted until the 21st....Which is weird because her periods are usually 3-4 days long....She went and got 2 hpts last night, took one of them last night, and there were 2 lines(meaning shes preg) but the one line was really faint....Then this morning she took another, but nothing showed up....Which is it? Is she pregnant or not?
Any input would be appreciated, she's freaking out not knowing!
Much love,
vanessa

Well then lady, I think that you friend should go to the doctor. If you are getting to different readings on tests then there is no sure way, unless of course you just have your friend go and buy a new test. Whichever you friends chcooses to do, make sure that you keep us updated. I still think that you friend shoul go to the doctor though!!\

2 lines means that hcg was found in her body meaning that she is preg, faint or not. Now did any line show up on the test this morning or was it an invalid test?

Nothing showed up on the test this morning...Maybe the test she took this morning was somewhat defective and didnt show the low hcg levels(other line from last night was extremely faint she said).....She also said that last night she took the test, but none of the lines showed up, like the line thats supposed to show up to show that the test is working, so she didnt wait the 3 mins and put the test in her drawer thinking it was defective...She woke up this morning and theres def a faint line in the circle that shows ur pregnant....But the test this morning showed nothing....If this makes a difference, the line that shows the test is working is a lot lighter this morning then last night...So maybe that affected the results somehow?

I mean it doesn't make sense for the line to be there indicating she's pregnant if she's really not, no matter how much time passed after she looked at it...Wouldn't it most likely be the other way around...Showing no lines when u really are indeed pregnant?

Well is sounds as though the tests are either expired or just a bad brand, so I would go get a new brand, clear blue digital or ept, and try it again in the am! I am sorry I can't help more vanessa, good luck though!

From what ive heard.. U cant get the 2nd line unless u are in fact pregnant..So sounds to me that she is.. She should just go to the doc to get the blood test tho for sure.

It's okay! Both tests she took were ept...So I guess she'll have to get clear blue or something else....We were thinking about taking her to the clinic on monday to get a blood test done, cuz hpts add up man! $20 bucks a pop! Lol it's insane...

Kari,
i'm thinking that her hcg levels aren't strong enough yet for it to show up on every single hpt....So maybe that's why the 2nd test she took didn't show anything...Just a thought

When that happened to me, I went to the doctor and they requested I get a blood test which the results come in the next day.
It might be a little early for the hcg but I heard that the best time to take a pregnancy test is in the morning since thats when the hcg is so high.. Not sure but I think I read that somewheres? Lol!

Ok some updates...She took a first response test about an hour ago and it came out negative....She's still stuck on that positive hpt so she went out and bought 3 clear blue tests...She's going to take one tonight and then save the other 2 for next week...She's freaking out over this, I feel so bad because i've been there and don't know what to do for her! It's honestly just a matter of waiting it out now...

Jennifer,
did you have to pay for the blood test @ pph? I just called another local clinic(the one I went to is closed due to remodeling or somethin lol) and she said that they dont do preg tests....And she doesnt know of any free places to get it done...She said you have to pay at planned parenthood..But I thought it was free...I dont know, guess since ive never gone before..
