Early Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms Forum - Pregnant? What Are the Odds?

Hi everyone! I just got off ortho lo at the end of july and haven't taken the pill since. I got my period aug 3 but had unprotected sex on the 16th and 17th of aug and a few other times. I had spotting for a week or so and then just clear discharge. I havent got my period yet its due tomorrow. Do you think I could have ovulated that soon after stopping the pill? And could I be pregnant since I had unprotected sex when ovulation usually occurred? Im really nervous so any advice would help thanks!

yes you could have ovulated so soon off the pill. There is no 'set' time for ovulation to come back. It can take awhile for some women though - so if you aren't pregnant this month, keep trying ;)

Thanks for your reply! When would be the best time to take a test? I took one about 3 days ago and got a neg. Should I wait like another week?

test when your period is due and/or late. Follow the directions on the box, using first morning urine. So buy it today and take it tomorrow morning?

First morning urine has the highest concentration of hcg (pregnancy hormone) in it.

Taking pregnancy tests prior to your period are always iffy. They may or may not show a positive. It is best to wait until at least the day your period is due. Or later if you can hold out. ;)

the good news is, if you are pregnant, you will eventually find out and knowing today wouldn't be any different than knowing tomorrow.

I hope you are taking folic acid and a multivitamin. If you haven't been, start. It is also a good idea to have a pre-pregnancy check up at your doctor's office.

Ok I think i'll test tomorrow! Thanks ingi for your help! I've been taking vitamins so I hope everything will turn out ok!
