Hey guys, im young im only 16, and for about a year now, anxiety has been running my life.. In the winter, I freak out because of the noises of the house, I always think someone is in the house, and its hard to sleep at night. Lately i've been having problems with the bathroom too. It's hard for me to go out, because everytime before I go out, I have to go to the bathroom multiple times, and I avoid eating so I dont have to go to the bathroom. It is seriously effecting my social life, im afraid to go on long car rides because of this. Please help me guide me in the right way to solving this issue.

Thanks!

I like what nawtaprioncess said about it all being in your head. I worried about everything until I learned how to change the way I think and process things in my head through cbt. The cbt book we used in my group is short and straight forward it's called been there, done that? Do this! By sam obitz. See if your library has a copy and give the tea form exercise a try I think it will help you deal.

Avoid Medication
Hi,

i agree...It's all in your head.

Only you and your experiences can change the way you think. A book called 7 habits of highly effective people changed the way I thought.

Every situation can be perceived differently depending on your angle. Teach yourself to see different facets and you'll never be helpless.

Something happened that triggered your state. Whatever you're doing....It's not working....Try something else ;-)

and whatever you do.....Don't reach for a magic pill. Medication is todays fog. It's not a solution and not something you should waste your precious time on.

You can do it.

Anxiety describes any feeling of worry or dread, usually about events that might potentially happen. Some anxiety about stressful events is normal. However, in some people, anxiety interferes with the ability to function.

St. John's wort extract helps to maintain a steady mood and promotes good mental function in the treatment of anxiety disorder. Hops extract and valerian extract can act as a sedative and help to cause sleep and lessen anxiety and tension. Take valerian extract 30 minutes before bedtime. Skullcap extract has been used historically as a sedative for people with nervous tension and insomnia which may be helpful in the treatment of anxiety disorder. Chamomile extract contains active constituents that contribute to smooth-muscle relaxing action. People with anxiety disorder (also known as nervousness, panic attacks) are often deficient in essential nutrients, including calcium, magnesium, b vitamins. Zinc is an essential mineral that is a component of enzymes that protect against free radicals caused by anxiety whic may be important in the treatment of anxiety disorder.

I dont think that presciptions are that helpfull unless you want to be on them and depend on them for the rest of your life! you need to take the bull by the horns and do what scares you to overcome this. this is from a person who gets too scared to answer the door/ phone. take things back to shops and worries about people thinking bad of me. but by facing these things you realise there is nothing to worry about and step by step you overcome it xx
