I really need help. I'm about 7 weeks pregnant. I'm not ready to have a baby. I just got a job of my dream. I have 1 more year left for college. I want to have an abortion, but i'm so afraid of what is gonna happen to me after I get it done. I'm afraid that I might not be able to get pregnant again. At an abortion clinic I went to, they showed me a video about an abortion of what being done to the baby. I really don't think that i'll be able to take a good care of my baby. I'm not ready to be a mom yet. I saw my baby's heart through an ultrasound. It was already beating. I really don't know what to do. I'm really not ready to have a baby.

Abortion will not affect future fertility unless you have severe complications, which are nowadays.. Did you know that when a woman has a miscarriage, they use the same suction and dilation that abortion does? Yet you don't see people telling the woman that she will never have another child, or that she will be infertile, they tell her to try again when she feels ready.

An aboriton is safe when done in a reputable clinic! You can also get put to sleep for an abortion, or have iv sedation which will make the procedure painless.

this is a list of reputable clinics, their websites are listed, and you can see how much they charge. They also have info about iv sedation or asleep anesthesia, and if the clinic offers it.

The first step is realizing you are not ready for parenthood. You say you've just landed your dream job and are a college senior - a baby would throw a monkey wrench into all your plans, no matter how well you would try and budget your time. You'll be handling the full workload in your final year of college, and it's a big enough struggle as it is without having a screaming baby to come home to who will distract you when you study, take away from time needed to work on assignments, and keep you awake at all hours of the night, regardless of any exams you may have. Babies don't care what you need to do in school - they're selfish little beasts! It's all about them and they'll scream until they get the attention they want.

As carifairy said, abortion does not affect your fertility or make it any more difficult to conceive in the future - honestly, childbirth does more damage to a woman's body than abortion. They show you the abortion video to try and talk you out of your decision and yank your heart strings, but do bear in mind that fetuses do not feel pain until the third trimester, and abortions are not carried out during that time unless the mother's life is in danger or the fetus is severely deformed or won't live. So it would not be the equivalent of ripping a fully-functioning human person to pieces - and i'm not saying this from the pro-life/pro-choice perspective - I say it from the biological perspective.

In any case, I wish you luck with whatever decision you make.

are highly reccomended, but if you tell me where you live I can find out!

Did you go to an actual abortion cinic to see the video? Or to a crisis pregnancy center?? Those are not abortion clinics....

I went to actual abortion clinic. They told me that abortion is very dangerous. They also told me about the chance of me getting breast cancer, and how regret i'll be after I had it done. They told me that women who had it done will end up their relationship as soon as 3 months. How they have hard time of being around children, and how the expectation date and the day that they had an abortion will always trigger them of what they've done. Before, I went back there for the ultrasound, I was so sure that i'm going to have an abortion. I was planning to get it done by tomorrow, but now i'm scared. I wanna get it done by tomorrow because it's a long weekend, and bf just got a job outside of the city. If I can it get it done tomorrow, he'll be able to take care of for a longer time. I think that i'm still gonna have an abortion anyway since I really can't handle of having baby right now, but I really am so scared of the choice i'm making.

Netgrl, people at these clinics will tell you that you'll get breast cancer in an attempt to scare you out of your decision - numerous studies have been done that prove abortion does not cause any kind of cancer. The most you could get from an abortion is an infection, which you would be given antibiotics to prevent post-procedure anyway.

Definitely find yourself another doctor - the one you've gone to see sounds like a complete fundie who cares more about some little ball of flesh than about your life and your feelings.

I had my abortion almost 6years ago and i'm still with my partner - yes some relationshps may break down but they can if you have a baby too. If you know it's the right decision for you then you are unlikely to regret it, maybe have some counselling.

You need to be careful of what clinic you go to.
There are clinic that often offer free pregnancy test and counseling for abortion. However, the catch is

"in their zeal to stop women from having abortions, anti-abortion activists have set up "counseling centers" in hundreds of communities around the country. Far from true counseling, these centers are designed to misinform and intimidate women — some will go to any lengths necessary to dissuade women from ending their pregnancies. " (planned parenthood)

to be assure of a confidential and supportive service, check for a local planned parenthood.

It does sound like you went to a "fake" abortion clinic, and that they were in fact just a fundamentalist front trying to keep women pregnant and in the house.

You went to a fake abortion clinic....

Please go to an aboriton clinic on the website I gave you, okay?

If you cannot find one near you, I will help.

The american cancer society says abortion does not cause breast cancer, do you not think they would know?

I am sorry you got a lot of bad info, but you did not go to the correct place.

I work in an baortion clinic, and I also help women find real abortion clinics!

There are so many fake clinics around, and I have to help women find real clinics.

They probably showed you an inaccurate video!! You can be alseep during an abortion, so you would feel no pain. Many pro lifers say abortion hurts, but we have anesthesia nowadays, so it doesn't have to.

If you pm me what state or city you are in, I can help you. If you are in nc or sc, I can help you if you need a ride.

Thank you for all the support. I never knew anything about fake clinics before. I didn't even know that they exist. Thank you so much for the information. Now, I feel better about the situation. I really want those fake clinics to be closed down. They tried to scared me a lot. They made me feel so guilty of wanting to have an abortion. I don't know if there is a way to warn women about the clinic I went to. I really don't want anyone to go there and have that type of experience I have when all they really need is support and true information.

Wow. I never knew that there are lots of them before. I felt so trapped before I posted here, but now I feel so much better. I think i'm gonna go with the birthcontrol care center. I think i'm gonna get it done next saturday. I felt so sorry that I went to the wrong place, and be given a wrong information. I really don't want any women go to those places, and be given wrong information like me. I'm so glad that I posted my problem here. Now, I really feel much much better about my decision. Thank you so much.

I am glad we can help!

They are called 'crisis pregnancy centers', and they are usually listed under "abortion" services/alternatives.Counseling.

They are prolifers who will say anything to stop you from actually having an abortion.
