4:00 - olive oil, slice of fruit, little bit of meat, a couple almonds & water

6:00 - olive oil, chicken, slice of fruit, salad w/ oil and vinegar, couple almonds & water

8:00 - olive oil, slice of fruit, little bit of meat, a couple almonds & water

10:00 - olive oil, slice of fruit, little bit of meat, a couple almonds & water

can I eat a baked potato?
Is cream of wheat ok?
Cheese?
I hate vegetables but I want something else to try, any suggestions. I know I need to add more carbs to my meals. Where can I get the carbs from?

Dude, you have! To eat vegetables! I've heard some people say oatmeal is fine but most wheat products are said to be avoided at first. If that's okay with you though, keep trying it but you need! To add vegetables. There are plenty out there, butternut squash if you want some flavor (add some xylitol for a nice treat), green beans (any variety), peppers, broccoli (careful of eating too much) and so forth. You should be avoiding potatoes, but if you want to try them I suggest sweet potatoes first. Cheese is generally fine because it has no carbohydrates (most of them at least). Try to go organic and raw if possible, but at least organic. Your carbohydrates need, absolutely need to come from vegetables.

If you really want to try grains, remember, there's nothing stopping you, you may find that for some reason they work for you. You could always try if you wanted, I just don't recommend it.

(sorry for reviving an old topic)

i know some people have a hard time handling wheat of any kind (my aunt being one of those people), but I find that I absolutely need complex carbohydrates like oatmeal, wheat bulgur, brown rice, etc.

It might be one of those things you have to try out once or twice and see how your body reacts. My younger brother (also hypoglycemic) can eat white rice but can't handle corn at all, while i'm the exact opposite. And both of us can eat baked potatoes as long as we pile on the cheese and sour cream and real butter (because margarine and other 'fake' oils create a lot of problems for us, too).

Generally what we do with a new food is take it slowly and let our bodies adjust before trying a new food, then seeing how we react while keeping a high-protein food nearby. :) do whatever your doctor (or another health specialist you're seeing) recommends.
