Hi, i'm 18 years old and maybe two months ago I started feeling like there is something inside my neck. You can't actually feel it by touching my neck but I feel that it's there. It went away the first time but has recently returned. It seems that it's triggered when I smoke a lot, and then it becomes inflamed or something. I also have had a mouth sore for as long as i've had that feeling in my neck. The doctor said it appears to be a canker sore and has made an appointment for a throat specialist for me. The area where I feel the inflamattion is near my adams apple. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Could Be a Polyp?
First........Throw those damned cigarettes away while you are still young and your body can begin to repair the damage they have caused. That was the hardest thing I ever did in my life......Been 16 years this past january. The place you feel in your neck, could very well be a sort of polyp. My uncle smokes one right after the other and over the years has had several of these removed. He also had canker sores in his mouth. Not sure if this is related to smoking, but being a mom.....I just felt that need to try to say something.....I do hope your physican clears this up. I also hope you take over your life and control the cigarettes...Not allow them to control you.....Good luck young man! 8)
