Q: Is There Any Point In Going to the Doctor Now?

I injured my ankle while riding my horse last march when I put all of my weight onto it in a corner. It "popped" and collapsed. Because I did not want to be told that I had to stay off for a while, I never had it checked out. Instead I wore a brace I had from a previous injury for a while. My toes were numb for about a month and a half, and would turn purple.

It still bothers me five months later, but i'm not sure there is any point in going to a doctor now. Is there anything besides basic treatments (such as ice, elevation, exercise and stabilization) that a doctor could do? Should I go get it checked? Thanks,
danielle
