I Need Advice... New to Forums

Hi
since 2003 I have been complaining of fatigue and hair loss to my family doctor. He ran blood tests and each time told me I was fine. This year the fatigue is so bad I missing work and my hair is falling out at a scary rate. I got a copy of all my blood tests since 2000. My tsh has been rising from 1.641 in 2002 , tsh 2.628 for some reason the report does not list the t4. Here are my test results for june 2006 tsh 3.78 t4 free 1.17. I just had another test last week for gallbladder and they did check tsh again and it was 3.9. I called my family dr and he said my tsh levels were perfect and that nothing was wrong with me. I was dismissed. My question is this... Is my doctor correct? Is there any information I can send to my doctor or should I get a new Dr. There is one specialist in the area , I am going to try to get an appointment , I was told it could be november. I feel invisible :(

I'm going through the same problem with my son(he's just 11). His tsh over the last year has been going up like yours and he has so many symptoms. I've gone to a specialist but that was useless. He said that my son was borderline hypothyroidism but the next week his nurse called saying that the doctor said the test results were fine. I don't see how the doctor could change his mind but I know the feeling of being invisible. All I can say is keep a copy of all your test results and try to find a doctor that will listen to your symptoms. We know our bodies better than anyone and I know my son better than the doctors. He's just a kid and I don't thing his tsh should be going up or that he should be having so many symptoms. I haven't given up on getting my son well and finding a doctor that will help him. So don't give up. Good luck
