I am a 19yr old female, very petite, and have just recently been diagnosed with wolff-parkinsons-white syndrome. My doctor prescribed me 25mg of atenolol once a day. I am on my second day of using it, and it seems to be fine. My normal heart rate is anywhere between 84-94, thats when im just lounging around. Since taking the medicine, my rate has been about 64, which I believe is really good. The only concern I have is this... What happens when I sleep? Because the medicine brings my heart rate so far down, is it possible for it to bring it down to dangerous lows while i'm asleep? The 24hr halter test I had done showed that my average low while I was asleep was 51bpm. Would the medicine cause it to lower or would it remain the same because it is a good rate?
Any input would be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.
