I was diagnosed with cellulitis in my groin area a few days ago. It had spread rapidly upwards. I was put on antibiotics & the infection has not spread any further. I know I wasn't supposed to, but I popped the one place where the pain was greatest (i absolutely had to, the pain was unbearable) however, in addition to continually draining, the skin is now molting, looks kind of whitish/gray and is peeling. I now have an open type sore where the skin has peeled off. Now I am really worried.
I wonder if the skin peeling is a normal process? Probably not.
