I was diagnosed with wpw at the age of 13yrs and had an ablation done in 1996 i'm now 46yr with some success in other words only minor pulpertations for approximately 2 seconds and very rarely - 2 to 4 times a year. My question is this, can having this condition lead to heart desease and dose the heart muscle weaken at all. Unfortunately I have not seen a doctor since the ablation. I'm now going through manapause and find my heart races, but in a different way.....If you know what I mean. Looking forward to any response.

Hi shirlee,

i live in australia too. Which state are you in?

I'm 48, female in perimenopause. Wpw diagnosed at age 15, ablation in 1985. In 1993, my heart develope some other symptom (sss). 1994, i'd a complete heart block. 2005, I developed a-fib. 2006, I developed ......... I'm still having wpw pattern. Ablation solved the palpitations but left the wpw there. Nightmare, hurrrr!

Please go and check it out. My left ventricle is slightly enlarged but haven't become like a ball yet, I hope it won't and never will! Anyway, the ablation left a scar in our heart! It likes part of the heart muscle damaged too! Would our heart know, it's done it in purposely to stop the naughty spot?

Keep me in contact, let me know how you go.

Pika
