I went to the clini today and took the mifepristone medicine for a medical abortion. I'm supposed to take the misoprostol medicine in 24 hours. What if I don't take it? I'm not sure i've made the right choice.

Mifeprostone has killed your fetus, if you do not take the misoprostol you will get an infection due to retained tissue not being passed.

Infections can mess up your fertility, the abortion will not!

It is best if you take the medication, and not risk an infection that could cost you your fertility, okay?

Also..I work in an abortion clinic, so I do have knowledge =)

Yes, it's a little late now to change your mind. After the firt medicine, the actual death of the fetus has occured, as carifairy said.

I think it's a pity that the medical abortion involves the taking of more than one pill, especially that the second pill needs to be taken so long after the first. It just allows situations like this to arise.

Perhaps more care should be taken to ensure that the woman actually wants an abortion because to regret a decision like that must be dreadfully painful.

it's only a day or two inbetween and, nfortunately, this is what can happen when women are unsure of their decision.

I hope the lady who started this is doing ok.
