My mom is 40, going to be 41 this october. She's had her period normally forever. It came normally last month, but afterwards her breasts were hurting, like they did before her period. Well her period came two weeks early (very unsual). She's going to the doctor on monday to get blood work (results do friday). But I want to know some possibilites, and hoping this site can help

1. Even though she says she cannot be pregnant...Could she be?

2. Even though she thinks she is too young for menapaus (sp?) could it be that?

3. Could it be something really serious?

Should I be worried? Cause I kinda am. But kinda anxious cause i'm really hoping she might be pregnant. I don't know what to think. Please help me

Early Menopause
Just an fyi...My body threw itself into menopause at the age of 22!!!!! It sucked! I had hot flashes worse than my own mother! You mom may be going through early menopause or it may be hormone related/endometriosis, etc? She should go to the doctors if it is overly concerning to her.

yeah it doesnt seem like something major to worry about..Some women have regulated periods for years and years and then they can become unregulated..It could be stress or like the person that posted above said ..It might also be hormones...But the best thing is for her to go to the doctor ..Which you said she was doing..

Good luck

and dont worry it doesnt seem like anything major!

It's probably really nothing to worry about. Stress or anything can throw a period off or make it early. It can always be a possibility that she could be pregnant- my mom had me when she was 40, and my brother when she was 42. But, if she says thats not a possibility, then it probably isn't. Hope everything turns out alright!
