Q: Losing Eyelashes?

Hello all...Now that the hotflashes have started, i've begun to wonder if some of the other strange things happening lately are menopause related. Has anyone else lost eyelashes? I hear over and over about hair loss and wondered if this would be included in that catagory. About a year ago I started losing lashes on one eye. This happens and they grow back. Of course, it takes a month or so to grow back. Then i'll lose them again. I'm not noticing any other hair loss. I went to an opthalmologist, an optha-plastic specialist (specializes in eyelid problems), and a dermatologist. No one knows why i'm losing the lashes. Thanks in advance for any input.

Eyelash loss
Hello Paula...I'm sorry to hear you have the same problem but glad to hear I'm not alone. I have been using RevitaLash for about a year. It does seem to help, but no cure. My eyelid was completely slick (no lashes at all) a little over halfway, from nose to center. Now the lashes are noticeably thinner in that area, but it looks much better. I buy it on ebay. It is expensive. The cheapest I have found it is about $90, but it does last awhile. You have probably seen it if your are searching as I did and still am. Earlier this year they approved Latisse (by prescription) for this problem. It is the medication that was originally used for glaucoma and has some side effects. I have not tried it. Please let me know if you find any success. Good Luck!

Eyelash Loss
ME TOO! I have lost eyelashes on my right upper lid and called my Dermatologist who suggested first to have the following blood work done.
CBC, Thyroid, Liver Profile, Testosterone (crazy I thought for a woman) but I didn't care what they tested as long as they find the problem and correct it! I tried the fake lashes which probably caused more damamge, so I stopped that. I am researching everything! I will let you know what my dr. says about the result of my test tomorrow. I am 45, Female that had my Hysterectomy at the age of 18 and this is new for me and VERY UPSETTING!
