I had a total hysterectomy in may 2006 and felt fine for a while, then all of a sudden it seemed like I just crashed... My girlfriend tried to tell me it was the surgery and I kept blaming it on other things... I ended up almost breaking up with my boyfriend due to it and found myself having problems concentrating on work and just normal life..
I am on hrt and it helps with the night sweats but not the depression. I went to my family doctor who didnt have a problem putting me on lexapro which seems to have helped... I am feeling more normal and I have noticed that I am not so anxious and nervous.. I take 10mg daily and feel much better... I am hoping I dont have to stay on this forever but for now it seems to be helping my moods and attitude and I know my boyfriend is much happier...

Re: Finally Got Some Help
Im 26 and had my full hyster at 20, after I didnt really feel anything. It is only now that im starting in on depression. Sure I had the night sweats and not being able to sleep now its depression, still cant sleep more than 4 hours at a time unless sleep aid applied, more emotional. I don't really know what to do. I cant keep the weight off, and that is not helping either...Please help
