I have experienced depression I do not know if you have any friends that have been through the same thing you have but I have a couple of friends who have had a complete hyst. Too. And when we get depressed we call on each other. I am still looking for answers and looking for a new doctor that can relate a little better. My doctor I have now does not seem to ....I do not want to say does not care but does not seem as concerned with my depression. I wish I could give you some answers but there are more of us out here.

i had a total hysterectomy in march of 2003. I had had three previous surgeries, one being a fibroid uterine embolization, but the fibroids came back. The fibroid was so big it showed on an x-ray because I was having severe back pain. I am suffering now from depression, anxiety, and having difficulty concentrating. I am on natural hrt theapy, on tri-est and a natural progesterone creme. Has any one else experienced the same? I have no libido, and feel at a loss. I would like to chat with women who have experienced the same.

i know how you feel. I had a complete december 2000. My depression is out of control and I am now taking 2 anti-depressants, 0 libido. Wish I could make my husband understand.

Good luck

Extremely eHealthy
Anti-depressants can cause loss of libido!! So maybe try natural anti-depressants, like 5htp (look up tryptophan on a search engine) a 30 to 60 minute walk at sunrise which (even if overcast) is when the suns rays act on the chemicals in the brain to help reduce stress. Possibly also dhea, check on-line via a search engine to see whether you think it's for you but one known effect is to increase libido!!

Also relaxation methods like meditation, yoga, pilates, long hot baths with essential oils, hobbies & also affirmations to work on deleting the negative thoughts/beliefs in your sub-conscious are all wrth trying, just remember these things take time.

Good luck

Depression
Another good natural alternative for depression is sam-e. You can get it at wal-mart, internet, any drug store or health store. It works well with no side effects. My son even takes it for a boost at times. My daughter takes it for those pms days. I take it daily. They use it a lot in europe for mild to moderate depression. Not good for bipolar disorder though. :d

Depression
I am 2 1/2 years post complete hysterectomy. I am on both estrogen and testosterone. I believe that it is a balance between the two that cures the depression. I am much better with testosterone, but am getting resistance from doctor as I try to get more. Besides mild depression and short term memory problems, I am having major difficulties arguing with anyone. I walk away rather than argue. Libido is non existant. Joy of life is missing.
