Breast Fed Baby Vomiting After Feeding On Right Side Posted: 08-22-06 18:35pm


My baby seems to vomit as soon as she stops feeding but only after feeding on the right side, it gushes out of her mouth and she starts choking, the vomiting continues for about 20 mins. She is fine on the left side. Any ideas?

You may have overactive letdown in that breast. It's when the milk is letting down too fast for the baby to swallow and he/she will drink too much to fast and vomit. If you have a pump you may want to pump a little before feeding her that side or manual massage breast and squeeze milk out before nursing. So the lil one is not drinking so much in such a rush.
