Hey ladies!!!

I am at 37 weeks and have a on going question... I have the b&h contractions... My tummy gets rock hard for a minute then it goes away... I have no pain as of yet... Which I am not complaining about!!! But I have been getting this shooting pain in likethe top part of my inner thigh... What is that??? Is it a contraction pain or my body just being strange??? Its just started happening but it has happened more than once... So now I am curious...

I had the "painless" contractions too... I could not decide whether they were real or not. I finally started timing my contractions (when my stomach would get hard then soft) they were 4-6 minutes apart and lasted about a minute, that same night I went into labor! Everyone is different though. I also had the pain in my inner thigh for weeks...I think it is just your pelvis getting ready.

Good luck, hope that helped.

Hey melissa, when I was pregnant with my daughter, I had braxton hicks from six months until I delivered, on almost a daily basis. And like someone said in another post to your topic, you will definitely know the difference when you go into real labor!!!! My very first contractions felt like bad menstrual cramps also, and your stomache will be hard during a real contraction just like with the braxton hicks, but you will have the pain, and it will get consistently worse, or at least it surely did in my case. I am not a doctor, but I personally do believe that braxton hicks can do a little to dialate you, as I was at going on three centimeters dialated for the last three weeks of my pregnancy, but again i'm not a doctor, so I don't know if this was the cause, and the doctors didn't seemed concerned about me being a little dialated. I also had pain, your body is preparing to have this baby, and you have a lot more weight resting on you at this point that could cause you hip/thigh pain. Good luck I hope everything goes well for you!!!

dont worry not everyone had braxton hicks, some people go into labour without many signs beforehand

oh okay good. Thot that it would take way longer to go into labour cuz I haven't felt really any "labour signs" that much. Im just getting menstrual cramps at night time here and there, and direah and feeling kinda sick but dont know if thats from the pregnancy or not :p
