Q: Effect of Changing Pill Start Date

I accidentally started a new pack of oral contraceptive pills last night when I still had one remaining 'reminder' pill left on my old pack. I am a sunday starter, so tonight (sunday), I will have to take my monday pill, and so on. How will this affect the level of effectiveness? And also, should I just continue to take the pills and start new packs on saturdays now instead of sundays?

You can always talk to your pharmacist and see what they have to say about the change of the pill or call the dr on call.
Good luck to you!

That change is okay!

The problem would have occured if you started the pills a day late!

If you ever want to change days, just cut your 'placebo week' short, never extend it.

You did the right thing, many women do change their start days because of many different reasons..

I stopped taking my pills about a month and a half ago. I realized that they were the reason my skin had stayed acne free for so long, so I decided to start a new pack a week and a half ago. I didn't even think about when I should have started. Is the pill still going to be effective even though I didn't start them right after my period???
