Should He Or Shoudn't He Be In Treatment Posted: 08-19-06 09:50am
I am a therapist and our policy is no
violent offenders. I found out that
another therapist has a client who has 3
manslaughters charges and everyone acts as
if "well it was along time ago". I
can see this clients therapist has told
manangement about his past. Yet he
remains in our 6 month program. Also
he is a walk in from the street so we
could ask him to leave anytime.
Please tell me how can my colleague
continue to treat this "man"? Do we
continue to treat the anger issues or
should he not even be in our program.
He has recently become very angry &
his true personality is coming out.
He has met with management yet still is in
our program. Help I really need
answers........Nan
also does anyone know how to look up
someone that has been in prison to get his
records? Maybe this would help
management see the light. This is not a
lock down facility but we are fenced in.
I have had 16 view this in the past 10
minutes and no comments? Who is reading
my post....Is it people from the forum or
the doctors? Is there a way to
tell....Please let me know your thoughts.

Your goal should be to find out the root
of the anger. There is a reason why he is
acting that way and i'm sure if he is
willing to cooperate, you should be
successful. Plant a seed in his heart
with love and affection and let it grow to
replace the negativity. You will know in
six month if he is a change person. One
way is to find something he is good at
like in art, find a side in him and let
him shine. One part I dislike about
therapist is that they only work on the
negative part of a person, you should try
to have balance.
