Well I have finaly given in and am going in tomorow for the first round of blood work to see if I have the signs of pcos... It has been over a year and a half and my cycle has still not regulated... Perhaps there realy is something wrong. Whatever it may be I hope that they can find it and treat it.

Wish me luck.

Pcos
You may want to ask your doc about metformin or other meds that will or may help your pcos. Hopefully you will be doing and feeling better soon! Take care hon!

Jeannine_29 - well the thing is that they are not sure that I have pcos.... But they also have not completed the tests. I do have several symptoms according to my friend...

Acne, overweight, skin tags, unexplained hair growth on my legs that has occoured just in the past few months, irregular cycles (30-42 days).

I do have an appointment for my yearly pap next tuesday so I guess I will discuss it more in depth with my doctor then.

Do you have any suggestions as to what questions I should ask?

Oh, gosh, hon...I have no idea what to ask!! When I was diagnosed with pcos it was a shock!! I thought and had been thinking I had cushing's disease. (my fiance and I both thought that) I had been tested several times for cushings, but all my tests came out fine! Then according to my doc, my blood tests came back abnormal and long with my other symptoms that I had she ended up diagnosing the pcos!! When I had the visit with her and she told me about the pcos she said to get on metformin..I told her I was already on it for my diabetes. Have your doc test your hormones, though!! That is an indicator! Also, make sure they definetly do your testosterone as well! Good luck to you hon!

What I would ask for is blood work and an ultrasound. I was just diagnosed 2 days ago and they saw abnormalities in my blood and on the ultrasound. I knew somethng was wrong because i keep gaining weight and my periods basically come when ever they want to! So we decided to try for a baby right away. Smile
