Q: Worried Blood Clots On Pill

Im planning on going on birth conrol pills and I know about the biggest risk which are blood clots......My cousin has a blood clot disorder...And im worried.....Ive never had a blood clot but everytime I get my period I get a very painfull pain in the middle of my inner thigh on one leg and I used to think it was a blood clot I had a ultrasound done and blood test and nothing......But im still scared maybe the birth control pills will make it come out......

You could always use non-hormonal birth control (iud) if you are concerned about blood clots.

Your age matters, as does your smoking status. There are other methods of birth control that don't cause blood clots and are reliable.
