Hello everyone. I am new to this site; I just created my account a few minutes ago because I am in desperate need of an opinion, or maybe to hear from someone who might have or know about this.

My father just turned 50 this past june, and he has always had problems with his ears. He had a tumor removed more than 15 years ago, and is prone to infections, popping, etc.

Within the last 2 weeks, he has been developing several symptoms that are making me worry. I've urged and urged him to go to the doctor, but he doesn't have medical insurance, and doesn't want to spend the money, so he keeps putting it off.

A couple of weeks ago, he started getting very dizzy, was vomiting daily, and had blood coming out of his ears. From what I understand, the vomiting has subsided, but the bleeding is worse, and now he can't hear out of his left ear. My mom said that last night, he soaked 4 q-tips (both ends) with blood from his ears. I am very scared, but I just don't know what to do to get him to go to the doctor!

My mom had mentioned that maybe it could be mastoiditis, but she isn't really sure either. I thought that maybe someone reading this might know what these symptoms mean, or maybe has had or knows someone who's had these symptoms, and might help point me in some sort of direction. Maybe information I am able to gather on here might convince him to go. If anyone can give me any information, I would greatly appreciate it! :(
