Q: Taking Bc On Time?

I've been on birth control for a month exactly today. I've been taking my pill around 6 pm everyday. But recently I took it at like 8 for a couple of nights.. Just because I forgot to take it at my usual time.

Should this make the pill less effective? I had unprotected sex both those nights that I took it at a different time. But since it was just a couple hours later shouldn't I be okay?

No, you are fine.

Choose a time when you can take it at the same time every day. I took mine at bedtime. The pill pack was right on my nightstand and I took them every night at 9pm. If your schedule changes often, a different time would work better for you.

My best friend took hers in the morning after she brushed her teeth. She kept her pills next to her tooth brush to remind her. A girl I worked with kept hers in her purse because she was always staying at her boyfriend's house and that way they'd always be handy.

Find a way that works for you. An hour or two does not make the pill less effective.

Up to 6 hours of difference shouldn't matter; my schedule personaly changes a lot, so my time varies during the week. It's okay :)

I was wondering if there'd be a problem if you took it a couple mins or hours late. Where'd you find that out from? (the 6 hours)

It's on my pill's information packet, and the docs at the clinic told me too.
