Wow you are a little rude! The reason I ask is because I read on the internet its most likely to have twins if there are twins on the mothers side. And if you are gonna be rude about my question I dont need you (samantham) to answer back. Thanks!!!

why is she dumb exactly..She actually asked a pretty normal question..
But back to the normal post/question..
There is probably a chance you are pregnant with twins which me I dont know precentage wise what chance you actually have...Maybe you should first find out if you are or arent pregnant and then if you are ..Talk with your doctor and im sure they will be glad to do an ultrasound to see!..
Good luck ..And congrats if you are indeed pregnant!
I heard twins tend to skip a generation... Fraternal twins do run in someones family samantha... Some people are more likely to have twins than others if it's common in their family.
I think i've heard that twins skip a generation, so you are more likely to have twins if your parents or partners parents were twins or had siblings that were twins than if your husband is a twin. I've heard this, don't know how true it is.

You do have a very slight advantage to having twins if fraternal twins tend to run in the .Mothers side, the chances really don't go up for you with them running in the .Fathers side. Fraternal twins mean 2 eggs have been released during ovulation and both have been fertilized. The genetics play apart in that some women have a "family tendancy" to release more than one egg. Identical twins happen when the egg splits into 2, creating 2 babies that have been fertilized with the same sperm (both babies then having identical .D.N.A.) identical twins don't run in families.

i think the poster who said this lady is dumb was probably confused by the poster's question which seems to ask 'is it possible that twins can be conceived?' as opposed to 'how likely is it that I have conceived twins?'.
I think she probably thought the poster was just someone messing around.
That's what I reckon anyway!

the part that got me was she said she 'feels' like she is pregnant. . .Shouldn't she find out first then ask if it could be twins?

Twins run from the female side not male. The way twins are concieved is solely your doing. You are the one who will either release 2 eggs(fraternal twins) or have your egg split in two(identical twins).

Exactly what emma said, if faternal twins run in y.O.U.R family it is possible that you will have twins, twins come about from the female releasing two eggs during ovulation. I think having identical twins however is not genetic, because through some strange chance the egg just splits in two ( I stand to be corrected). Twins on your boyfriend side will not affect your chances of having twins....
But if your boyfriend has a sister then it is possible that she will have twins.

The possibility of twins come from the female side.
A knew a woman who was a twin and she had twin girls, but I also know a guy who has a twin sister and when he got his gf pregnant it was just one baby. As was said before, the twins (fraternal) come from the woman releasing two eggs. Nothing to do with the man, other than the fact that both those eggs have to get fertilized to get twins. Identical twins are all just by chance.

That is one thing I always thought of when I was pregnant, every second child on my mother's side of the family had twins but I guess it stopped with me, thank goodness, in a way and then my cousin even though she had four boys(no twins) anyway but if all of mine had of lived, I would have had six I did and still do appreciate my two((not twins)!
Good luck to you!

Wow this is all so wierd! My grandmas sister is a twin so it would skip my mom and go to me right? Then my husband is a identiacal twin and his uncles are twins, and his cousin had twins. Plus get this I am on fertility drugs that increase my chances to 5- 10% of having twins (says doctor) how about that..Chances of twins for me look really high!!! But cnichole I have also heard the every other generaton thing before but I also heard sometimes like emma said the eggs are different, but good luck hope you get what your wanting.
