Hello,
i have suffered with dull achy to a few days severe headaches off and on for about 4 years now. Recently I was tested for allergy's by an allergist and had a ct scan of the sinus by my ent. Ct scan was clear. I take allergy meds for allergies that are moderate. Both Dr.`s along with my primary doctor concluded that the headaches I get coming from the base of my skull thru to behind the eye area we not due to sinus problems. I am seeing a chiropractor now.He says one part of my spine is stiff right now so it is hard to work with. He recently put me on a "stretching" machine where he was attempting to loosen up my upper back/neck area. He also tried a neck traction device. One or a combination of the machines gave me a headache behind my eyes reconfirming what my ent doctor told me about it not being sinus. I have recently read about a cerviogenic headache (along with all the others like migraine, tension ect.) I was led to believe a cerviogenic headache is usually from an accident or as a last resort when diagnosing a headache. I have also read these kinds of headaches are hard to treat. I do not have typical migraine symptoms all though when I get a very painful headache my primary Dr. Classifies them as that. My ent who is highly referred insisted it was not migraine but related possibly spine or arthritic. I was told a neurologist may be able to help with pain meds(been there done that) but it is very expensive as I have no insurance. My sister saw a neurologist for something simular but he never helped her, only had her on muscle relaxants and xanex. I have had good results for the occasional painful headaches with vioxx(only took it like 3 times a month) but it is considered dangerous and taken off the shelf. What about an anti inflammatory like celebrex?
I wondered if I should see a physiatrist instead. What else can I do here? Anyone`s input will help me. I am loosing work and a marriage over this.
