Q: After 2 Weeks of Abortion, Again Started Feeling Nautious

Hi there,

i had an abortion on 31st july. The bleeding almost stopped..Just few spotting.........And I had no cramps etc so we planned to have sex.

Though I was advised for no sex for 4 weeks however we could not resist . During the intercourse on 12th august, the condom broke and my husband got released inside.

After abortion, I was feeling absolutely fine and was recovering...But now since last 2 days again started feeling nautious and weak...:-(

from 13th of august, I started feeling nautious and yesterday on 14th I was feeling exactly same as I was feeling when I was pregnent.

In fact I thrown twice on 14th and since morning I m not feeling well today.

I was just wondering if the nautious feeling is because of the new pregnancy when condom broke inside or....Its the old pregnancy symtoms...In the case where abortion was not proper....

I started getting little more bleeding from 13th and 14th of august . Not sure if this is going to be my regular period or there is smthing wrong??

I started feeling week and nautious too and already vomit once...Do u think I am pregnent?? I could not take any emergency contraception.

Is it possible to feel the pregnancy symptoms so early...I mean just after 2-3 days??

Is there a possibility that I can have the pregnancy test as positive just after 3 -4 days of the time when condom broke inside.

If its not a new pregnancy then..........What could be the reason for me to feel nautious and exactly same like I was feeling before abortion..

I am feeling nautious too..But bleeding exactly like periods, is there a possibility that my pregnancy termination was not proper and there is still some tissue left which started growing?

When I checked it with pregnancy test...It is giving me positive results.

What is the complicacy of being still pregnant after abortion? What are the next steps as we dont want to have any baby for around next 2 yrs........
The abortion happened the sergical way on 31st july...And I was having the bleeding...And was decreasing by 10th aug......There was very little spotting..On 12th august during the intercourse the condom broke and my husband came inside me.

Please reply...I m worried...A lot! :-((
i am worried...And scared too...Please advise!

Not sure if you got my reply on the pregnancy board so just thought I would repost it here - for what it's worth!

I'm pretty sure a pregnancy test can still show positive for up to 4 weeks after an abortion because the hormone is still in your body so you might get a false positive result if you test now.

Have you considered using a less risky method of contraception such as .Depo .Provera injection which you have once every 12 weeks? It may avoid this happening again if you are certain you don't want a baby for next couple of years. Or can't you tolerate hormonal contraception? It's not for everyone, I know!

Someone will be along soon i'm sure who has more knowledge about abortion than I do, just didn't want you to feel ignored!

Thanks for your reply....I am worried and scared coz...I started feeling nautious, not able to eat anything, thrown tice and weak....Exactly as I was before abortion..Again since last 2 days..However I am still bleeding like periods with little cramping.

Not sure what to do...As I m confused..Please advise!

Yes it's possible to get pregnant again that soon after an abortion but you'd not be likely to have such symtpoms so soon. Implantation usually occurs around 5days after conception so a new pregnancy wouldn't show up on a test but the hcg from your previous pregnancy possibly would.
Go to your follow up and they will check to see if you are pregnant (either not having had a complete termination or if it's new).

It's likely the spotting is from the abortion and i'd say that it doesn't really sound like a new pregnancy to me.
If you're very worried i'd say call your clinic and see if they can see you earlier

Again Having Pregnancy Feeling After 12 Days of Abortion

After abortion my nautious feeling was gone....But soon after 10-12 days I started feeling nautious and the same what I was feeling when I was pregnent...I m worried can this be incomplete termination of pregnancy??

If yes..What will happen now?? What are the effects?? How to proceed with the complition of this pregnancy termination, please advise!!

If it was incomplete then you would have to have the remaining tissue removed but you'd likely be having symptoms of an infection as opposed to pregnancy symptoms and they are fairly rare

you need to go back to the doctor and explain what happened. You also need to use a more effective form of birth control since you do not want a baby in the next 2 years.

It doesn't sound incomplete to me. It sounds like you shouldn't have been having sex so soon.

When you have an abortion, your body does not instantly recognize that it isn't pregnant and you still have pregnancy hormones left over in your body. That is why a pregnancy test would be positive.

A little knowledge on conception for you: when your egg and the sperm meet, there is about 4-6 days before they implant on your uterus. You would never get symptoms before that.

There is a reason you are advised not to have sex for 4 weeks. The risk of infection is very high. And sex can cause increased bleeding - which you are having.

You are not pregnant. You need to find some birth control that you can use and that will work for you. Someone mentioned the depo shot. You should look into an iud also.

Go to your follow up appointment (aren't you supposed to go 2 weeks after an abortion?) and make sure they check you for infection since you've already been having sex. Don't have sex again until after 4 weeks and you have a reliable method of birth control.

Thanks for replying for my query, it was very helpful. I had doctors follow up appointment tpday and just came back, he told that one can never be pregnent just after an abortion atleast for abt 6 weeks and while you are bleeding.

(he explained that its a myth :?: on the websites which talks about pregnancy just after 2-3 weeks of abortion....He said the websites write like this coz they want to scare us and dont want us to do sex before everything becomes oky to avoid infection and other bleeding problems.)

also he told me that till the time the hcg hormones will be down...I can not be pregnent but it doesnt mean I can have sex...Or have sex without protection.

He advised me not to have sex for next 4 weeks too.( as advised by u too..) and then once I start contraception pills.........I cant have sex for next 2 weeks and then I can have sex.After that.

He assured me that he is 100% sure that I m not pregnant and the termination of pregnancy was proper. He also advise one hcg blood test to check for hcg hormones

he advise that the bleeding which I am having may be my periods after abortion.

Though he could not explain me the reason for me being nautious & weak feeling again...But he said it might be the affect of the hcg hormones which are still there in my blood and still not lowered completely.

Tomorrow I will be going for blood test........I hope thngs get better soon.

I m just crossing my fingers for getting better.....!
