hello. I am 20 years old and my 16 year
old sister is having seizures. She is yet
undiagnosed with epilepsy as of yet, but
we are running out of resources. I am
curious as to what, if any, protective
headgear your children/you wear? And if
any protect you/your family memeber from
striking thier face while having a
seizure. Also, if there is anybody around
the age of 16 who is going thru the same
thing, would you be interested in an email
penpal? Help eachother thru the seizures
and growing up.

Sorry I can't spell. My name is jamie.
I'm 44. I had spinal menigitis when I was
6 months old, bad case of the measles when
I was 6 years old. Head concusion when I
was 13, car accident when iwas 17. The
accident was really bad, flipped 3 times,
head injury. The docs. Can't pin point
it. After that, I started w/ the auras
coming every so often, maybe 2 a year for
10 years. Then when I reached my 30's
they came more often, 6 a year, then the
last 3 years of my 30's iwas getting them
more and more. I had no idea what was
happening. My marriage was bad from the
beginning. I have to boys I was trying to
save. I left that guy when I was 38. 2
months later I was having a aura and boom
I had my first gran- mal. After going
thru lots of meds, and docs. (neuros) and
a long 5 year divorce. I had brain
surgery at u.C. Davis in 2002 in june. I
lost my favorite job, I was a buyer and
manager for a clothing store . I got to
go to l.A. S.F. L.V. I went back to my
old job a year later just to be a seller,
because i'm really good w/ ppl my boss
tells me. Well the short time I was there
from june until the 1st of this year I was
a magnet to ppl like me. So I gave
notice. And know i'm working on getting
my support group together in this town.
And I have my 1st interview with in home
service w/ a women that is 77. So my life
has did a complete turn around. My
youngest is now 18 and started college
yesterday for crimanal justice. And my
oldest is going to be a father next month.
So that makes me a
grandmother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 18 year
old has been w/ me for 4 years , he drives
me around. I still can't drive. I seem
to still have the big ones. But not as
much before. I still have the auras but
not as much before. They told me 40 to
60% I would be fixed. So I took the
chance. Because I was pretty messed up .
So I would do it again. By the way they
found scar tissue on my right frontal
lobe.

Hope your sis can get under control w/
meds. I do know a young girl about her
age that grew out it but she had to take
her meds for awhile. She is now 20. I
ask her now and then if she is o.K. She
works at the store I shop at and goes to
college. I've known her since grade
school. I live in a small town.
