Ashley one huge problem with eating disorders "ed" is that it fools you into believing your fine! It becomes your friend ~ the only one that understands. No one with an eating disorder ever started out thinking "oh I can't wait to get osteoporosis, I can't wait to suffer from broken bones. I can't wait to get hospitalized with a feeding tube. I can't wait to get heart problems and die early." they all sounded exactly like you. The same excuses.
My daughter has battled with an eating disorder for years and is in recovery now. She was in denial for 6 months of her inpatient treatment before she finally saw what she was doing to herself. Ed not only effects you, but everyone around you. You have no idea the pain it causes.
It is not about food. It is always about something else.
If you seriously had a true weight problem, you could have seen a physician and done it the right way.
You are hurting your body. You will die. Ed will not go away; he will only get stronger and stronger.
Please listen to those who have been there.
Why do you think eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of all phyciatric disorders? Because its most often too late before you realized you have a problem and actually get help!
Any of you on here telling her it's okay should be ashamed of yourselves. Ashley, you are not a bad person. It's ed. But you need to realize that you are a better person than your physical apperance. There is so much more to you. You cannot go it alone.
Please, please, please, get help.
From a loving mother.
