i never told people to drink that is a decision people make on their own, anything can be harmful to a pregnancy but i'm not anal as some are im more laid back but I guess it was how I raised.

If I wanted to make sense I would but im not getting paid to do it so f*ck it....

The fact that you stated anyone who drinks will have a retarted child is disgusting, first off you are being prejudist and second you are not a medical professional. All I state is that your validations are not true I have two healthy/intellgent kids and if something happens to my son it is a genetic disorder that he will inherit from his grandfather called "muscular dystrophy."

i have done multiple debates for school projects on alcohol during pregnancy and 85% of the studies done were woman who had 3+ drinks a day not 2-3 drinks during the whole pregnancy. 95% of woman who had a drink-2 drinks during the pregnancy never had children with any birth defect and I have the studies to prove it. I never post it cause I dont want people to think its okay to drink but people like me of european background are born and raised in the glass of wine thing occaisionally and that is why I did the study.

I have already posted links on sites that contradict you and I have alot more from actual brewery, the reason they dont want pregnant woman to drink is because they over do it. I dont tell you everything during my life I dont like you parenting style but as a parent its our choice on how we raise our children.

Alcohol in moderation is healthy and has had multiple studies that prove a drink every so often actually improves one health.

I know whats right and wrong, I dont break the rules, I smoke outside(dont even smoke in the car unless the kids arent there) I will never promote smoking and will be quitting after I take my weight off and get back into a healthy lifestyle.

I dont eat at fastfood and will only allow my kids to eat there on special occaisons, I never hit or abuse my kids and yes I love them to death does not make me better or worse then you.

So stop talking down to people its sickening

oh before you call me retarted again remeber who has the better job and im furthering my education while being a parent/wife/sister and friend so I can still strut my stuff with confidence. The only reason I am where I am is because I am myself I dont read textbooks but I follow my heart/instincts plus im blunt as all hell.

lol! I never said everyone that drinks will have a retarded kid, I said you are taking a chance.

I am not going to read your whole post because its not worth my time but I just read the last paragraph...You have a better job? Haha! And what makes you think im not furthering my education?
You dont read textbooks? what? Then how do you "further your education?"
by "following your heart" omg lol too funny! That just made my day-thanks!

let me remind you....You said my baby is retarded because I had one glass of wine during my pregnancy..

.T.H.I.S. Is what I said:

"unacceptable is being a selfish hog and not putting your baby first, instead indulging in the "occasional" alcoholic beverage and promoting it as a "european thing" that is completely okay. Whatever, its your retarded baby, not mine. You deal with the consequences.

(for those of you who take everything way too literally, I am not saying every child comes out retarded/slow/ developmentally delayed, I am saying it is possible and you are only increasing the chances by drinking any amount of alcohol)"

i only said the retarded thing because I was trying to stress that it is possible.

Whatever, its your retarded baby, not mine.<---- and this means what to you? To me its saying that my child is already retarded ! Are you kididng me?

Oh and you dont have to stress anything ebcause you are not the only who knows that drinking and smoking is not good for anyone let alone a baby...But thats excessive drinking dear..You make it sound like one sip is the worst thing that someone can ever do..When in fact, my own Dr. Doesnt seem to agree with you at all...Thats where your text book sh%t needs to be reconsidered...

You can have retarded (i call them special children) if you don't drink or don't take drugs, sometimes things happen that we have no control over. I have had a couple of small glasses ofwine and my kids are far from being retarded or special and they are almost 30 years young, they never had fetal alchohol syndrome and I did not do drugs, I am not nor have I ever been an alchoholic, I don't even drink now. The meds I take are the meds that are needed with my medical situations. After watching my step-mother being a hateful alchohoholic I don't feel that I could ever be one and I have worked around them also, they can get pretty nasty. I have also worked around junkie or druggie babies, that is really sad, especially when the mother gets up and walks away as all she cares about is getting her next fix and we have let her know that we can help her and that we will do all that we can to help her baby but their are others that stay and get the help that they need, sometimes they have to come back for another time or two but as long as the baby is being taken care of is the main thing to me!

I just had to jump in the discussion.

If you drink your child will not 100% for sure have problems. However, any drinking can effect your pregnancy. Will one glass of alcohol cause fas? Probably not. But there's still a chance it could harm the baby.

I am not- let me repeat, lest people say i'm calling their children retarded- saying that your baby will have problems due to this. I am saying that it increases the chances. Yes, ever one little glass does increase the risk.

Don't believe me? Fine. Here are a few links:

while it is true that a glass of wine on occasion is healthy for an adult, that is not true for a fetus!

Personally, I won't drink right now. I am ttc, and I don't want to get pregnant and unknowingly cause harm to the baby. I have taken multiple biology classes in college, and yes, I do learn mostly from my text books, but it's important information. I have a younger cousin who was born with fas. It's not pretty. I've seen first hand what this does to a baby, and I can not imagine why any mother want to take the chance of causing harm to her child for a drink.

For anyone who stands by the argument of women in the past drinking and having healthy babies, that isn't a valid argument. Your mother/ grandmother/ aunts, etc may have drank and healthy babies. But it still doesn't make it okay. As we move forward in time and science and technology we are supposed to take what we learn and improve. Just because people did something in the past doesn't make it okay. If that were the case, the world would be in sad, sad shape.

Imo, there is no excuse for a woman who knows she's pregnant to drink alcohol. At all. I'm not saying that your child will have any arbd, but why risk it?

Anyway, that's just my opinion. I'm not attacking anyone for drinking during pregnancy, calling anyone's child retarded, or anything like that. I'm simply stating my opinion and backing it up with facts.
