I know this is an old post but I just ran across it.
I also have TOF and I did have a healthy baby girl. Every TOF is different and doctors who do not know a whole lot able this condition may make decisions based on what they know about instead of what you are able to do.
Were you followed by a cardiologist since your surgery?
I know with me they did not follow up after the surgery, just kind of said you are doing great now and dropped me. Since I developed a Ventricular Tachy Cardia after the last surgery, I was at least seeing a cardiologist for that condition. I was even told I would be ok to have children.
It was not until I got pregnant that I was even told that I needed to see a special cardiologist for my TOF. And the TOF specialist were concerned about my pregancy.
But I think this was mostly because they had not seen me before my pregnacy. My heart valve did leak during my pregnacy, but not after my pregnacy. I felt fine all thru my pregancy. I worked up until the last month of my pregancy. I never had to go on bed rest. I delivered normally, but I had a lot of anxious doctors hovering over me to make sure everything went ok.
I cannot tell you that you will be ok as well, but it is possible.
The best thing is to see a heart specialist so they can run the test to make sure you will do ok, but do accept the answer no without the evidence of why to is not possible for you.
I hope things are going well for you now.
