Hello I have a question for u people out
there that has been plauging me for about
a year. Throughout the year i've had a
reoccuring "rash" you could say on my lips
faintly discolored and dry and scaly
lasting any where from 2 days to a week.
And only occurs every other month. I've
been to the doctor twice about it the
first doctor gave me some type of
anti-fungal cream that i'm not so sure of
it's effectiveness but the "rash" did go
away but continued to occur. Recently it
came back but this time it burned and
itched. My lips slighty swell and
secretes a very small amout of liquid.
This new "rash" was alot worst than the
previous ones it came to the point where I
could not fully open my mouth because my
skin on my lips would split burn and then
secrete a film of yellowed liquid. Now
this all sounds a little unslightly but it
is not easily visible to the average
person... Even when I went to the doctor
for the second time about this new type of
rash he and the nurse did not immediately
see any problems with my lips.
Eventually the doctor concluded it was
frostbite coupled with an allergic
reaction and prescribe hydroxine for the
swelling and itching and ibprofen. With
continued use of medicated chapstick all
was going well for about 5-6 days until
yesterday it flared up again. The
burning has come back and my lips are
swollen. I'm beginning to think it is
someting else besides
frostbite.......Help, please help, does
anyone recognize this condition>

Got An Answer
I went to a dermatologist and he said that
it was all just an allergic reation and
told me to use nothing on my lips but
products containing 100% petroluem jelly
and not the stuff that i'd been using.
He prescribed atopical cream and some type
of cortisene steriod and the rash went
away. I was suprised at the suddeness of
my allergic reations considering I had
been using these products all my life, but
the dermatoligist informed me that it
happens all the time. So all has been
well since then.

itchy lips and mouth
I am growing a bit worried I hope someone
could provide me with some answer's. this
mornig I woke up with the right side of my
bottom lip swollen, I asumed it was a cold
soar and just pushed it off, untill later
in the day my whole top lip swelled. it
has since spread to both lips inside and
out side and now to the top of my mouth
along the right side of my tounge, I have
tried allergy medication but it is not
seeming to help. chap stick isnt even
helping, and I have not eaten anything
that I do not eat in a normal day. I have
also notice my face is a bit flushed as
well. If someone could give me some advice
or something that would be great.
