Hey,i havnt posted for a.G.E.S so hope all of you are well.Im now 18weeks and 2days pregnant, and im doing okay (thank god).I can feel slight kicks and if I prod my pudge (bump) he kicks my fingers,it feels like a little frog hopping about. Its so lovely to feel after everything I went through in march.Anyway im writing this because I have been a doveted vegatarien now for 9years and the other day my grandmother brought this huge glass cooking bowl out from the fridge with loads of cold chicken in it for my (now fiance) rob to eat and before I even new what I was doing I was eating it as well. They were all just looking at me as if I had gone mad and now ever since I have been eating it every edit day.Is this normal to want meat and why is the beby making me eat it?Its just chicken at the moment but I also keep craving bacon,i feel so guilty but I just can not stop.Anyone got any advice????Please help.Jadexxxx

I think you can go easy on yourself while you are pregnant and allow yourself to eat some meat if that is what you really fancy. It could be that you need the protein or is it possible that, deep down, you want to eat meat again and the pregnancy is a good escuse to do it? I don't mean that in a bad way, I was veggie for 10 years and one day I had a filet o fish from .Mcdonalds and that was it, I was back eating meat again.

You can always go back to vegetarianism after you've had your baby if you like.

I've always been curious as to how someone could go without eating meat..Its like my favorite thing..

I had a friend that her religion was against it but she still snuck around and ate it at school:)..Shi* I would have to if I were her!

My grandma is a vegetarian. It's weird, because she hasn't been her whole life....Just as long as I can remember. I don't know when she started. She gets lots of her nutritional needs out of the good foods she eats. She takes vitamins everyday too. She is gonna be 89 this october and she still lives on her own in a regular apartment complex (opossed to a senior complex) her eye sight has been getting progressively worse, but she manages still. She's not the energetic little old lady she was 5 years ago, but she's doing good for her age!!

But the moral of my story is, you *can* get your nutritional needs from other foods that you would normally get from meat. I'm not sure how she does it, it seems she lives off of tomatoes and cheese. But she's not lacking anything according to doctors. They just tell her to keep doing what she's doing.

Hiya jillian, just answering your message,i wasnt a veggie all my life but when I was between 10-13 (cant remember exactly) my mum and me decided to start,i do it because my field of work is and always will be with animals, farm work, zoo work, equesrian work, vet assistant work, vet receptionist work and I actually did start feeling guilty, alot of you will say thats pathetic but its true and thats how I feel,i used to be feeding the cows on the farm (rare breeds farm, meaning they won't actually be killed) and I would look into those big brown eyes with their huge long eye lashes and it would be like huh I just ate a bloody beef burger last night, and I would get very upset with myself,so their you go and I will try my hardest to stop eating chicken after my baby is born.

the baby doesnt make you eat anything they dont have super powers and ability to transmit info about whats on the menu!!!. You are eating it because its good for one and 2nd its absolutely needed and you crave it. You need a well balanced diet now more than ever and that includes all meat.
