when it is time to move to a facility
Hello,
It is usually time to move a family to a facility when you can no longer take care of them and they are a danger to themselves and others due to their dementia.

Tour the facility, make sure that it is clean, locked so the person cannot wander off the unit and get lost, low stimulation, friendly staff, the other patients should be clean, they have a community room for patients, area for them to walk around safely.

The staff at the facility will help them adjust it usually takes a week or two before they fully adjust

Build a relationship with the staff at the facility by talking to them every time you are there, if you don't know a staff members name introduce yourself.

Good Questions, I hope I helped.
